Howdy, People of WordPress! The talks in April have mainly centered around WordPress 6.2 – ‘Dolphy.’ However, there have been discussions about other interesting topics such as Phase 3 planning, Gutenberg updates, 20th anniversary planning, and much more. Let’s take a closer look at each of these in detail in the April Roundup of WordPress.
Phase 3: Collaboration Phase Planning
- WordPress has been transforming the way users create and manage their content on websites.
- Things started to change rapidly with the introduction of blocks in WordPress 5.0, which allowed users to create and edit the contents of the page using simple blocks.
- Followed by a second phase, bringing the same editing experience to the rest of the site – Full Site Editing.
- Where creators were able to create an entire website from header to footer.
- Now we are entering the third phase, which is going to be centered around fostering seamless collaboration.
- Where creators and teams can work together in WordPress.
- In this phase, the community will be working on bringing pretty cool functionalities like Real-time collaborations, Asynchronous collaboration, Publishing flows, Post revisions interface, and much more.
- I am thrilled at the prospect of collaborating in real-time with SEO optimizers, UX/UI designers, and developers.
